Biodiversity:

Playa Grande, Arroyo Seco, is a coastal zone enveloped by mangroves, palm forest and tropical deciduous forest—the most threatened tropical ecosystem in the world. Home to 1,149 species of plants, 110 of fish, 72 of mammals, 87 of herptofauna, and 322 species of birds, with an extremely high rate of endemism, this ecosystem is typified by a dry (November to June) and rainy (July to October) season. Enjoy premium birding on the beach, in the mangroves and around our fresh-water lake on our eight-hectare nature preserve and sustainable development—only one kilometer north of our beach base.
